The Clinton Global Initiative University is awarding students the learning opportunity to tackle issues in their society;

Undergraduates and graduates across the world, who are motivated to make a positive change in the various areas of life should apply.
Students accepted into CGI-U will participate in a year-round program that includes access to a series of benefiting privileges like, mentorship, student engagement events, including the CGI-U 2021 virtual annual meeting hosted by Howard University, and many more.
Additional programming will also be offered to students through partnerships with the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, with attention on civic issues and monetary sustainability IBM to assist students to develop app-based projects that address COVID-19, and global climate change through involve Code and Verizon;
To also help students develop the various technical skills needed to tackle pressing issues, with the opportunity to win a spot in an accelerator program and pitch for seed funding.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

Preferred students from various backgrounds of life will be selected by our admission board – that demonstrate the motivation to tackle specific challenges, the capacity to develop their leadership skills, and a dedication to CGI-U’s year-long program;

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

All accepted CGI-U students are to be present and responsive during all four online modules outlined below for at least 3 hours:
Online Module One
February 2021
Online Module Two
March 2021
Online Module Three
April 2021
Online Module Four: runs from
May 1, 2021 – November 2021

Graduation Requirements.

Through the online platform, Commitment Mentors will review and monitor student engagement within the CGI-U curriculum and confirm that students are fulfilling the requirements for graduation.
To complete the CGI-U program and become eligible for CGI-U’s opportunities and certificates, students must complete the following throughout the 2021 program:

  • Participation in one group discussion per module for one hour, which would be scheduled by Mentors.
  • Review of CGI-U 30-minute webinar recordings and readings on the web platform, and completion of all exercises.
  • Completion of one 30-minute individual coaching session with their Commitment mentor

Completion of Commitment-to-Action progress report.

Application Requirements

To be considered for CGI-U, students must apply with a Commitment-to-Action form: a new, specific, and measurable initiative that addresses a pressing challenge.
For easier application, you are advised to learn CGI-U’s Focus Areas and Keywords to determine the scope of your commitment.

Preparation: The Application Preview feature will help you to draft and review your application answers before submitting them online.
PS: Applicants cannot save an application and return to, all applications must be completed at once. The application will time out after 2 hours.

ELIGIBILITY
Only applicants who have not benefited from CGI-U, will be considered

  • Applicants must be 18 or above
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a higher institution at the time of applying
  • Multiple applications will not be considered

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
One submission per person. If you are applying as a group, the group leader must complete their application first and select ‘Group’ as the application type to provide details about group members. We don’t allow groups of quite three students to use for CGI-U, which we reserve the right to not invite all members of each group that applies. Any group of more than three members is advised to select the three students who can best represent the project to apply
