The Swiss Re Foundation Award for Resilient Entrepreneurs sets to recognise innovative initiatives fostering resilient societies and the advancement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The theme of this year’s award is RESILIENCE;

Applaudably, giant strides have been achieved in global health and reducing mortality, there is still a lot to be done.

The World Bank estimates about 400 million people still lack access to adequate health care. Hence, this year’s award aims to improve accessibility to health care services, and affordability of medical services, to at least one million people by 2021.

The Entrepreneurs for Resilience Award 2021 aims to harness innovative and marketable solutions that increase the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services to all communities. More profoundly, we are looking to increase the household healthcare resources and reducing health shocks that lead to socio-economic vulnerability due to an outbreak, a disease or an accident.

The top three finalists would pitch their businesses to an award jury consisting of Swiss Re experts, academic experts and selected Swiss Re clientele.

PS: Businesses whose financial solution is partly a comprehensive approach, can only be eligible for this award if their award financial solution is;
a) at the centre of a broad utility
and
b) innovatively outstanding or unique.

Mentorship and technical guidance from the experts of the Swiss Re Foundation

The top three finalists would receive a total of USD 700,000

The winner with the highest vote receives an Employee Award with an additional prize.
