OVERVIEW

A GREAT PRIZE Devoted TO Water-soak The Hassan II Great World Water Prize is one of the most prestigious and encyclopedically honoured prizes. It contributes to creating global mindfulness and taking concrete measures to promote the cause of water. Concertedly established by the Kingdom of Morocco and the World Water Council, this Prize pays homage to the memory of His Majesty the late King Hassan II, and his strategic vision for His country’s sustainable intertwined water coffers operation, in addressing the Kingdom’s water security.

This Prize is awarded every three times during the opening form of the World Water Forum. On this occasion, a jewel and an instrument are awarded to the winner who benefits from transnational recognition and visibility. As similar, the value of the prize is increased from 100 000 to 500 000 USD by the High Will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. For this edition, the theme chosen is« Water security in homes for sustainable development and food security».

The end is to ensure water security throughout the world, on a territorial position, to enable sustainable and indifferent development of populations while conserving nature, guarding the health of populations, and promoting agrarian programs suited to food security. After Kyoto in 2003, Mexico City in 2006, Istanbul in 2009, Marseille in 2012, Daegu-Gyeongbuh in 2015 and Brasilia in 2018, for the seventh time the Prize will be awarded at the 9th World Water Forum which will be held in Dakar, Senegal, on 21 March 2022.

HOW TO APPLY

All candidatures must be submitted using the enrollment form available online at Campaigners must be nominated by two persons and/ or associations active in the water resource sector. The following documents must be attached to the form

• Two nomination letters completed and inked by the seeker’s guarantors.

• A class vitae of the outside of 5 runners. THE Guarantors Any fresh supporting attestation related to the specific theme of this edition, i.e.« Water security in homes for sustainable development and food security», may be attached to the seeker’s train and will be considered at the final selection stage by the Panel of Judges. Operations for the Hassan II Great World Water Prize 2022 can be submitted until 31 December 2021.

WHO CAN APPLY

The Prize may be awarded to either an individual, a group of individualities, an institution or an association honoured by the Jury members as having a major through any design, action, innovative experience or exploration work or design to develop new approaches or ways to ensure water security and climate justice. The donation may be scientific, profitable, specialized, environmental, social, institutional, artistic or political. The evaluation of the operation will be grounded on the following selection criteria

• The King Hassan II Great World Water Prize rewards the seeker’s excellence and distinguished achievements in the fields relating to the specific theme of the Prize.

• Similar excellency can assume the form of either an enduring work or the performance of outstanding one-off achievement. No preference will be given to the seeker’s nation, coitus, language, profession or religion. Outgrowth OF THE 6TH EDITION The Organization for economic co-operation and Development (OECD) was awarded the 6th King Hassan II Great World Water Prize by the Government of Morocco and the World Water Council at the 8th World Water Forum in Brasilia, Brazil. During the opening form of the 8th World Water Forum, Angel Gurria, the Secretary-General of the twinning association, described entering this prize as a great honour.
