ABOUT UPG SUSTAINABITY LEADERSHIP

UPG Sustainability Leadership may be a movement that mobilises individuals and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability.

It is a movement that encourages and enables citizens in the least levels to require positive action. A movement inspired by the UPG’s commitment to try to to what we will with what we’ve , instead of await somebody else to act. it’s a movement that embodies the notion that everybody can do something to form the planet more sustainable.

UPG believes that sustainability includes BOTH the standard “green” issues like planting trees, recycling waste, managing energy, protecting the oceans AND other issues that are central to our societies for an extended time such as: education, health, jobs, gender equality, sustainable consumption, sustainable production and more. For those that are conversant in it, UPG uses the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guide.

The flagship activity is that the #UPGSustainability Leadership educational program for 500+ young adults from across the world per annum . There also are activities for schools and institutions also as for companies.

 

UPG Sustainability Leadership
Taking Action
Launched in 2019, the UPG Sustainability Leadership program has been training young leaders from all paths of life and world regions to become champions for positive citizen leadership.
In 2021, UPG certified 500+ new UPG Sustainability Leaders from over 100 countries and can provide for 60 of them a FREE, complementary and immersive 1-week experience on an island within the USA: the Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership. UPG Sustainability Leadership is FREE for children because of the wonderful support of our Partners who believe positive citizen leadership on sustainability. All the certified UPG Sustainability Leaders have committed to 2 objectives within the communities that they inhabit:
•Lead personal projects of their own choice that support a minimum of one among the SDGs”
•Deliver training sessions to their area people

JOIN THE 2022 UPG SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP CLASS
Are you a fanatical citizen, aged 18 to 35, that believes your actions can support your area people which every small positive action can make the planet a far better place? Then you’re welcome to use for our 2022 Program.

In spring 2022 UPG commits to coach and certify a minimum of 500 additional young leaders from everywhere the planet by spring 2022. And to supply 60 of them an immersive 1-week experience on an island within the USA: the Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership.

NOMINATE A CANDIDATE
Are you a part of an organisation and would you wish to support some outstanding young leaders to urge a seat at the UPG Sustainability Leadership 2022 Class?

The support of the organisation strengthens their capacity to form an impression after the training – this increases their chances of being selected. And successively , the organisation benefits in various ways by having a private who has received training in positive citizen leadership on sustainability.

The candidate that you simply nominate will have better chances to urge access to a worldwide community of like-minded and highly motivated young leaders (aged 18 to 35).

 

LOCAL IMPACT AND GLOBAL RESULTS
With the support of courageous people and organisations, a complete of 586 UPG Sustainability Leaders are trained in two classes (2019 and 2021) and 120 of them were granted the chance to urge a further immersive training on Hurricane Island in USA – where they’re presented with different experiences to know the way to address the challenges of specific ecosystems during a sustainable way, exploring the local environment, understanding problems, challenges, and brooding about sustainable solutions supported field investigations.

The UPG Sustainability Leaders are a part of a worldwide supporting network composed of young leaders from over 100 countries performing on their local projects and training their communities about the importance of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (the SDGs) and also on the way to use UPG’s Four Pillars to maneuver from “ideals and goals” to “positive action”.

In 2021, those young adults have skilled a 9-week intensive training which curriculum includes training in project management, stakeholder engagement, communication, digital communications, and far more. Sustainability Leaders also explored how sustainability is said to economics, politics, law, culture, technology, education, and more.

 

“The goal of this training is to extend the capacity of UPG Sustainability Leaders to steer a minimum of one project of their own choosing in their community. additionally , upon the conclusion of this training, UPG Sustainability Leaders conduct a secondary wave of mini-training sessions within their communities; contributing to a ground swell of informed citizens taking positive action and demonstrating sustainability leadership.”

Until August 2021 the UPG Sustainability Leaders have trained over 14,000 citizens worldwide through online and in-person sessions, and this is often only the start .

A STATE OF THE ART GLOBAL TRAINING
UPG Sustainability Leadership is that the world’s largest and most comprehensive sustainability leadership training for young adults.

It is a free programme that mobilises people and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. And this is often possible because of the support of UPG’s partners and collaborators.

2022 UPG SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP
CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE
The following conditions apply to prospective candidates who have an interest in becoming UPG Sustainability Leaders.

•Personal Motivation
You demonstrate a robust motivation to become UPG Sustainability Leader combined with strong capabilities and you furthermore may have initial ideas which will have an impression .

 

AGE REQUIREMENT
Your age is minimum 18 years or maximum 35 years by 1 October 2022. This ensures that each one participants are within this age bracket for the duration of the training and experiences that are planned.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA
UPG is trying to find young determined people from all different paths of life and regions of the planet . From well-experienced professionals to freshly graduated students. the choice process considers four factors:

A. Your Profile – this helps us to strive for diversity.

B. Your Motivation – we select the foremost motivated.

C. Your Capabilities and

D. The Potential for Impact.

UPG CHAMPIONS
UPG Champions have a plus within the process as they demonstrate the specified motivation.

•UPG Champions that are a part of an area “Community of Champions” or Champions who are from an organisation that’s a UPG Champion even have a plus within the selection process as this contributes to a supportive environment for his or her work.
