THEJ. ANTHONY LUKAS PRIZE PROJECT AWARDS
Established in 1998, theJ. Anthony Lukas Prize Project Awards fete excellence in nonfiction that exemplifies the erudite grace and commitment to serious exploration and social concern that characterized the work of the awards’Pulitzer Prize- winning namesake,J. Anthony Lukas, who failed in 1997. Four awards are given twoJ. Anthony Lukas Work-In-Progress Awards, theJ. Anthony Lukas Book Prize and the Mark Lynton History Prize.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The 2022 Lukas Prizes are now open for cessions. The deadline to enter is Thursday, December 9.

HOW TO ENTER
-Two J. Anthony Lukas Work-in- Progress Awards, in the quantum of$ are given annually to prop in the completion of a significant work of nonfiction on a content of American political or social concern.
Feting that a nonfiction book grounded on expansive original exploration frequently overtaxes the coffers available to its author, the design envisions the award as a way of closing the gap between the time and plutocrat an author has and the time and plutocrat that finishing a book requires.
-Aspirants for the award must formerly have a contract with aU.S.- grounded publisher to write a nonfiction book. The judges will make their decision on the base of trying to achieve maximum impact on a promising book design. Thus, their selection criteria will represent a mix of the merit of the book and the fiscal need of the author. For this reason, the judges will need to know the quantum of the author’s advance, as well as any other fiscal support for the book, similar as a entitlement.

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR ENTRY
-Completed entry form
-A dupe of the original book offer
50-75 runners from the work-in- progress
Photocopy of a contract with a publisher
-An explanation of how the award will advance the progress of the book in a PDF format.
-No entry figure is needed for this prize.

J. ANTHONY LUKAS BOOK PRIZE
-TheJ. Anthony Lukas Book Prize, in the quantum of$, is given annually to a book­- length work of narrative nonfiction on a content of American political or social concern that exemplifies the erudite grace, commitment to serious exploration and original reporting that characterized the distinguished work of the award’s namesake.
-Books must have been published in the United States between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Anyone, including the author, may submit a book. Entry freights are non­-refundable.
New this time Authors and publishers are encouraged to enter a book for either the Lukas Book Prize or the Lynton History Prize, not both. Books will only be considered for one of these awards.

A$ 75 entry figure per book. Payments via credit card are accepted at the time of the online operation submission. 

-Checks are also accepted. Make checks outstanding to “ The Lukas Prize ­ Columbia University Awards” by January 30, 2022 or the entry will be disqualified. Freights for multiple entries should be made with one payment.

MARK LYNTON HISTORY PRIZE
-The Mark Lynton History Prize, in the quantum of$, is awarded to a book­- length work of history on any content that stylish combines intellectual distinction with felicity of expression.
-Books must have been published in the United States between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Anyone, including the author, may submit a book. Entry freights are non­-refundable.
-New this time Authors and publishers are encouraged to enter a book for either the Lukas Book Prize or the Lynton History Prize, not both. Books will only be considered for one of these awards.
