Expression of Interest.

The AKU GSMC Media Innovation Centre, along side its partners DW Akademie and Media Challenge Initiative (MCI) are trying to find the brightest media minds from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to hitch our 2021-2022 Innovators-in-Residence program, a 12-month incubation and accelerator program that gives mentorship, training and training to media innovators in East Africa . we would like to make sure innovators from both rural and concrete areas get access to the present program and for this reason, this year’s cohort will include a special track for rural innovators.

We want to support innovators performing on ideas that promote journalism in rural communities in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. Specifically, we are trying to find media solutions that improve access to information, public dialogue and participation for rural communities considering the good linguistic diversity, potentially low connectivity, limited access to professional journalism and low literacy rates. Innovators working outside cities like Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Kampala are highly encouraged to use .

Urban-based innovators also are highly encouraged to use as we even have slots for them. Click on the document for more details.
