World Habitat Awards recognize and shed light on innovative and sometimes revolutionary housing ideas, projects and programmes all over the world.

Over 250 competent World Habitat Awards projects have been in place over the years, illustrating substantial, durable improvements in living conditions.
Two winners receive £10,000 each and a trophy every year which is presented at a global UN-Habitat event.

This so-called Awards competition has been sponsored by World Habitat in collaboration with UN-Habitat since 1985. During that time some of the world’s most distinguished and innovative housing projects have received international recognition for their work. Bronze, Silver and Gold will be presented as Awards to the most prominent projects and programmes.

The two GOLD Award-winning projects received a trophy ( which is presented at a global event) to recognize their work to build and deliver good practice in housing. We will surely work with our winners to ensure all events are COVID secure. The organization meets travel and accommodation costs for a project representative to attend the awards ceremony;
There will be prize money of £10,000, and follow-up support from World Habitat through the exChange programme.
