Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Youth Grants

Every 1 in 6 people (over 50 million people), including 1 in 4 children (about 17 million children) in the United States are encountering food insecurity in 2020. This is an issue that can be solved, and kids are a part of the remedy! Youth Service America in conjunction with Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation is seeking the most promising ideas from young people about how they can help satisfy immediate needs caused by the Coronavirus pandemic and/or help hinder childhood hunger in the future.
Grants of about $500 are supporting youth leaders from ages 5-25 across the U.S. to turn their ideas into action and make an influence on the issue of childhood hunger. Just this year, there is an option for a fundraising match grant, which includes $100 for fundraising-related costs and a $400 matching grant to a local hunger solace organization of your choice.

What are we looking for?

Youth-led community service or fundraising projects formulated to deal with childhood hunger.

Projects may take place in the following: schools, colleges/universities, afterschool programs, youth organizations, nonprofits, or faith-based organizations.

Projects that encompassed at least 25 young people within the age range 5-25 as volunteers between March 1 – May 31, 2021, with some activity on Global Youth Service Day – April 23-25, preferably. (While we will be adaptable this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, projects with greater numbers of volunteers are more likely to be funded.)

For fundraising-related costs, all grantees of the fundraising project will get $100 grants and a $400 matching grant to a local hunger relief organization of your choice plus the funds you generate.

Projects that involve youth not commonly geared towards servin youth with disabilities; youth that are struggling in school; youth from low-income or underserved communities, etc.
We’re extremely interested in projects that draw together young people, families, Sodexo employees, and other community members.

We are also particularly interested in funding projects that bring about long-term solutions to childhood hunger.

Applicants must live in the United States and activities must support families & children in the United States.

Grant funds may not be used to buy food or meals to donate.
