THE COLLECTIVE IMPACT RESIDENCY 2021

We are UK’s first accelerator programme whose mission is to support black social entrepreneurs.
We are looking for black entrepreneurs that are making positive impacts in their respective communities. At the Collective Impact Residency, you will be given the mindset, tools, and network that will help you to grow your social enterprise and become a unique entrepreneur.
The Residency will take place for 6 months. During this period, you will be given one-on-one coaching and mentoring, group workshops, and you’ll also be given access to our wide network of partners and investors. You will be a part of exceptional founders, and the much wider community that is the Collective Foundation.
The events of the programme will take place for three days during the first week of each month. The various types of events are:

For the duration of the programme, you will stay at “The Collective’s co-living building” which is located in Canary Wharf.
More Details Of The Programme:
The main purpose of the Impact Residency is to equip five(5) black social entrepreneurs with resources and connections to improve their business and make a bigger impact in their communities.
The Location is at “The Collective Canary Wharf, 20 Crossharbour Plaza, E14 9YF London.” From March to August 2021.
The programme will start from the first Thursday morning till Saturday evening of every month.
Participation is totally free off charge and the programme is entirely funded by the Collective Foundation. We do not charge any fees for equity or for the program itself because we are a nonprofit organisation and our goal is for our trained entrepreneurs to succeed and to help them make a difference in their communities.

ELIGIBILITY
Eligible entrepreneurs must have a majority stake or major decision making power in the organisation.
Below are the criterion for eligibility:
1. Applicants must be a BLACK ENTREPRENEUR.
2. Applicants must have SOCIAL IMPACT:
Social impact is the top priority of the start-up. Nonprofit and for-profit organisations that are in line with our four Focus Areas which are *Economic Opportunity, Health and Wellbeing, Social Integration, and Environmental Sustainability” are acceptable.

3. Applicants must have an EARLY STAGE BUSINESS.
You must be able to show us that your product or service has already benefited others. It’s not compulsory but we mostly work with startups that are less than five years old and have not yet been able to raise Series A funding.

4. Applicants must be BASED IN THE UK.
Candidates from across the UK are accepted. However, applicants need to ensure that they will be able to attend the monthly event programme in London. (This is subject to future COVID-19 travel restrictions and public health guidelines).

—WORKSHOPS
You’ll gain practical tools to grow your business and also receive one-on-one coaching sessions and group workshops on the fundamentals of business such as fundraising, marketing and leadership skills.

—MENTORING
You’ll be paired with a successful entrepreneur or an industry leader, who will share knowledge and experience with you by giving advice, network contacts, and continual personal support and encouragement. Matching a mentor to a candidate will be done on a personal basis in order to suit your needs. Your mentor will be asked to spend at least 10 hours mentoring you throughout the duration of the programme.

You’ll be introduced to our vast network of investors and partners who are equipped with the the resources to make your business succeed. Our partners includes “BYP Network, Black and Good, OneTech, and Thomson Reuters Foundation.”

—COMMUNITY
The Collective Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The Collective which is a property company that provides co-living avenues in order to build a more connected, inspired and collaborative world.
Creating communities in which people can live happy and full lives, is a major purpose of The Collective. Which is why the selected entrepreneurs will be given the chance to spend three nights in a month at “The Collective Canary Wharf” which is a place of community and creativity in East London, that also includes inspiring shared spaces and life-enriching experiences.
