A chartered marketer by profession and a global figure by works, Opeyemi Adeyanju is the MD/CEO of Mabo Brand Concept Ltd who hails from Ondo State, Nigeria and is a happily married with three children. Mr Adeyanju is famous for his empathetic nature of helping -most especially young- people find their path; He also doubles as the Lagos State Executive Director for Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E.) since 2016 to date.
As a testament of his work and the change he is driving, the renowned MD has received several awards and recognitions which include, The Most Influential Young Entrepreneur of the year in 2018 by Lagos Young Entrepreneurs; The Most Dedicated Mentor of the year, 2018 by Bank of Africa, Casablanca, Morocco to mention a few.
‘ The journey hasn’t been all rosy as many would be lead to believe ‘ he said during an interview. Globrand Concept , a business he had started in 2011 came crashing due to improper structure and capacity to accommodate growth, ‘ I learnt the hard way ‘ , he said;
Fully aware of his failed steps, Opeyemi sort knowledge and mentorship. He soon came to the realisation that this problem was common among for many entrepreneurs, start-ups, many of which don’t survive; from that knowledge and passion Mabo Brand Concept Ltd sprang to life.
Mabo Brand started in Lagos, Nigeria 2015, during the recession; Now, they have branches in Ibadan, Oyo State and Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria. It exists in o proffer solutions to existential problems, help individuals, businesses and startups build competitive and sustainable businesses, through exposing them to its intricacies, ‘quite an irony right? From someone who has recorded a failed business in the past (laughing); Look at it this way, who best to lead you than one who has beared the brunt and has found a way?’
Mabo Brand discovered that 90% of start-ups fail within their first five years; also one would hardly find a business that has outlined it’s founders; and we sort to bridge this lapses in other to ensure an effective economy. Five years in and we have recorded tremendous success and impact, where several youths have been impacted; entrepreneurs have been able to build their capacity, businesses are becoming more sustainable amidst many other successes. The brainchild of knowledge, passion and empathy is set to launch another global organisation which will meet bigger needs.
Mabo hopes to through partnerships -which they have identified as a major fuel for sustainability and growth- proffer solutions for entrepreneurs all over the world. GAIN incubator, one of the way through which youths can benefit from Mabo provides them with online developmental courses for their businesses, mentorship and trainings from experts to help them in inculcating sustainability into their businesses.
Mr Adeyanju expressed his gratitude for being recognised and selected as the Adult Ambassador of Campus Community Network (CCN). He affirmed that this opportunity further confirms that hard-working paves the way, noting dutifully that with position came great responsibility and he would give his best possible to upload the office, as well as the values of this prestigious organisation.
