Spread the love
Reading Time: 2 minutes

If only I loved you with the same magnitude of love you shower me with.
Our story would have been better than that of Romeo et Juliette.
If only I was mindful enough not to repel your warm, soft but firm hands of friendship.
Ours would had been a wedlock organized by the gods.

If only Adam didn’t get to eat of the fruit forbidden of the son of man,
Then would carefreeness be our tides and our young ones would never grow old.
The old will never die if only the serpent called Lucifer could kept calm and didn’t get rejected
He would have remain the fairest of all angels and Lucifer would not be dreaded.

If only Nigeria’s Independence was not borne out of hate, pain and anxiety.
Or if only my head could tilt better in the womb to show God Nigeria was not an option.
I wouldn’t land in the slums of the Niger Delta
If only wishes were horses, I would have taken the farthest ride thereon.

If you want something out of life you have to go out there and get it, because it is not just going to be given to you. –Kelvin Waites
